Outward Mission to China, 2008

In April 2008, I participated in the Arts Council England’s outward mission to Southwest China. The initiative involved six UK artists — Ayling and Conroy, Helena Ben-Zenou, Paul Gent, Paul Lewthwaite, Metro-Boulot-Dodo, and myself — visiting Chongqing to explore contemporary art practices and deepen our understanding of the cultural landscape in the region.

Following the group visit, I continued my journey independently, travelling by boat along the Yangtze River to the renowned Three Gorges Dam in Yichang, as part of my ongoing research into dams and their wider environmental and social implications.
