In the original showing of the work the installation drew on science and nostalgia to evoke an image of the potentially dystopian future awaiting Millom. inspired by miniature railway dioramas in which a holiday resort is juxtaposed with the railway on which the nuclear waste will be transported.

In this third iteration of the work, we witness this same holiday resort at some time in the future.  The image of holiday makers oblivious to the adjacent hazard, alludes to the catastrophic consequences that might befall Millom if it fails to resist the false promises promulgated by Nuclear Waste Services (NWS); with untruths that appear to permeate the town's consciousness.  Drums of nuclear waste litter the landscape the contaminated land is seen to turn orange and nature must be replaced by artifice (grass in the form of astro-turf) and the Sumburgh Foghorn alerts all to the dangers.

The Apocalyptic Souvenir Shop offers t-shirts, postcards, miniature Uranium drums and much more!
